Portrait of Magali: for a committed and inclusive Tech
Employability and labour market developments are topics that have accompanied Magali in her professional life for 10 years.
As an IT recruiter and business advisor at Pôle Emploi, she has experienced at close quarters the changes that have disrupted the tech industry and the profiles sought. At the heart of the trends and needs of recruiters, she chose to equip herself with these new skills and to follow theAlegria.academy's Nocode professional training course.
A personality driven by curiosity
Video games, reading, gastronomy, drawing, dancing and social networks (including TikTok, her favourite!) are among Magali's many passions.
This 40 year old Francilienne, of Correze and Guadeloupean origin, is a true epicurean. With a very open mind, characterized by sometimes very heterogeneous tastes, Magali is also a confirmed autodidact.
As she discovers and develops new interests, she likes to learn about new fields. After training herself in Human Resources to become a recruiter, she learns Growth Hacking through webinars.
She also trained in web development and discovered Nocode through the tech influencers she follows.
Putting people at the centre
Magali's professional choices have always been guided by her desire to combine work and human relations.
When she started working, she chose to work as a salesperson in the telecom sector. Although she liked the sector, Magali decided to escape the pressure of the sales role for a more human-oriented job. She became an IT recruiter, after her self-training.
This was followed by 10 years at the Pôle Emploi, for which Magali advises job seekers as well as companies looking for Tech profiles.
Beyond the centrality of the human aspect in her work, Magali is sensitive to feminist causes, and more particularly to the inclusion of women in the digital professions. During her various professional experiences, she quickly noticed that women in these professions were in the minority.
In 2008, she is one of the few female IT recruiters but also one of the youngest in the IT engineering company she works for. Some male candidates may have had prejudices about her skills. However, Magali is grateful for this stimulating environment which has taught her a lot about the IT profession.
Magali feels that the sector has evolved and is moving towards inclusiveness. She is delighted to have been selected to join the 100% parity class of the Alegria.academy, which is committed to a more inclusive tech ecosystem.
His future projects
Although she attended a web development bootcamp in 2020 followed by internships, Magali wanted to turn to Nocode. Although she enjoys front-end programming more than back-end, she still wanted to be able to create a product from A to Z independently. Magali joined the Alegria.academy as a complete novice in Nocode development.
At the beginning of the school year, when she discovered her classmates with different profiles, Magali did not hide her apprehension: "We all have different backgrounds and professional experiences. Some of us have already participated in Nocode projects or use it on a daily basis in our personal lives. This was not the case for me. And yet, I was easily integrated in the groups despite my introverted character. Everything goes very well, we work mostly in groups and this mutual support allowed me to progress rapidly ".
The training starts off quite intensively, but Magali is attracted by the programme's structure: "We start by getting to grips with simpler technologies and then gradually learn about more complex tools, which makes it easier to progress!
The availability of the trainers and their benevolence are also a major asset for Magali, who felt motivated, accompanied and reassured by them, even when she encountered difficulties. She had had a mixed experience with back-end development during her previous training, but she understood the JavaScript language much better after having been able to use the Nocode tools: "Nocode made it easier for me to understand the code in JavaScript".
After her work experience, Magali's ambition is to become both an employee and a freelancer, as she wants to keep a fixed income while having the freedom to work as a freelancer.
Another project is close to her heart: the creation of a web and mobile site - ergonomic and adapted - for people with disabilities. Sensitized to this cause, in particular during her time at the Pôle Emploi, she would like to use this platform to centralize useful information on access to training for people with disabilities (access to training, possible financial aid, etc.).
