Student Portrait : Lynda Ramos, why she chose Nocode for her tech career
Lynda, a multi-disciplinary professional with a Master's degree in Language Science, has accumulated a wealth of experience throughout her career. She has held positions such as Youth Project Manager at UNICEF and Senior Consultant in Customer Service and ESG at an American consulting firm, giving her solid expertise in project management and customer relations. She has joined the 4th promotion of the Alegria.academy, a new step in her career path.
Background
Lynda Ramos, 39, mother of two, has had a varied and atypical career. She began her career in language science research, specializing in discourse analysis, before becoming a French teacher. She then worked for UNICEF for 5 years, where she was in charge of youth programs.
Lynda then turned to responsible finance consulting, where she worked for ISS, a major US corporation. She used her diplomatic skills and ability to collaborate with private sector players to make investments more responsible, notably by integrating children's rights into business practices.
Through her experiences, Lynda developed an interest in technology and always acted as an intermediary between IT teams and her contacts. Eventually, she decided to change careers to join the tech world and support entrepreneurs from various sectors on the IT side of their projects. This is how she came to join theAlegria academy's Nocode training program.
Why did you turn to Nocode and Alegria.academy?
To this question, Lynda spontaneously replies: "I wanted to go further into tech and not just rub shoulders with it, but become a full-fledged player in it by contributing to the implementation of high-performance digital solutions".
Initially, she planned to train in traditional development. However, during her work experience at UNICEF, she worked with the Simplon.co IT team. Former members of this team founded Contournement. She regularly saw publications about Nocode. She then discovered Notion Facile, presented by Schubam Scharma, and was seduced by its simplicity and potential.
Lynda considers that the Nocode approach is in line with her vision: it enables her to explore different platforms and implement high-performance, more accessible digital solutions. So it was a natural step for her to join Alegria.academy's Nocode training program. She was won over by the long format, with an initial 3-month intensive training period followed by a 12-month professionalization contract. This model enables her to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom in a professional environment, while continuing to perfect her skills.
What are your impressions of the first 3 months of training?
For Lynda, the 3 months of training were very intense, but she is convinced that it was worth it. Today, she feels confident to explore new tools, try out different approaches, make mistakes and iterate. Her mindset is one of agility and innovation. For Lynda, the role of the teaching team has been very important, she explains, "I'm grateful to the teaching team, especially Ophélie, for her ability to adapt to students' requests, needs and feedback to keep improving the quality of the training." Thanks to the various modules offered by Alegria.academy Lynda has acquired a thorough understanding of the issues involved in the field of technology and the production of digital products.
In addition to the new skills she has learned, she says she has met some wonderful people in her graduating class, and stresses the importance of maintaining relationships with them, as forging new links helps to shape her friendships and professional network.
How is your internship going?
Lynda Ramos is currently completing her work-study contract at Hackers Corporation as Customer Success and Optimization Manager. Working in a start-up environment, Lynda's responsibilities are very diverse. What Lynda likes best is her company's customer-oriented approach: she works with the customer, not for the customer, because they have found that "When you do something for the customer doesn't take ownership of the automation designed for him, and he becomes very dependent. I like to work hand in hand with I like to work hand in hand with the customer, to explain things to him and provide him with the documentation he needs."
Lynda has mastered a variety of tasks, from customer onboarding and auditing, to marketing positioning and even redesigning her company's Wordpress website. Although the professional world goes beyond the skills acquired during her Nocode training, she particularly appreciates the opportunity to perfect her automation skills thanks to the weekly training day dedicated to this apprenticeship.
Tech and women
For Lynda, attending the training has highlighted the crucial importance of Nocode in encouraging women's participation in the IT field and fostering their involvement in entrepreneurship.
AlthoughAda Lovelace pioneered computer development, women have sadly fallen behind in the tech professions, accounting for just 18% of ICT specialists according to the DESI 2020 report. For decades, gender stereotypes have deeply entrenched the idea that tech is a male domain, and disparities in access to education and technical training limit women's career opportunities in the sector.
Nevertheless, Nocode offers an opportunity for women to enter the tech world quickly, even for those who might not have thought it was for them in their youth. These new tools break down barriers and open up new opportunities for women who want to get actively involved in the tech world and create their own businesses.
As Lynda explains: "Almost all the customers I work with at Hackers Corporation are men. Even so, I feel I have my place in this business, and I can't wait to see more women running companies and being able to help them optimize their business."
What next?
Lynda has a real passion for the field of customer experience and aspires to move into it. Her goal is to focus not only on the interaction between customers and digital solutions, but also on optimizing the customer relationship. She has observed that, for many entrepreneurs, acquiring new customers and carrying out projects is not a problem, but maintaining a lasting customer relationship is often a challenge. This is where she believes that today's Nocode tools can play an effective role in improving this relationship, provided you know what to say and how to maintain it. What really motivates her is teamwork, because that's where she excels and finds fulfillment. Although she plans to develop projects alongside her salaried activity, she intends to continue working within a company, where she can put her skills to good use and collaborate with other passionate professionals.
