PROFILE - Sara Mouasni, from immunology researcher to Nocode Ops
After a long university course and a first part of her career in biomedical research, Sara Mouasni joined the fifth class of theAlegria.academy. Her career change was as unexpected as it was honorable. Thanks to Nocode, she can easily make the transition to a career in technology.
Background
Sara is a 31-year-old doctoral student in immunology who worked in biomedical research for 6 years. After a few years, she felt she'd had enough of her job: "I wanted to change sector completely! Her interest in web development prompted her to take a skills assessment at the end of 2022. It was her skills assessment coach who introduced her to Alegria.academy. Little by little, she began to question her interest and discovered the vast world of Nocode.
Why did you turn to Nocode?
"My skills assessment confirmed my appetite for the digital world and enabled me to discover Nocode. I opted for this branch because Nocode seems easier to approach to start a career related to IT development." Sara was particularly attracted toautomation, as she prefers to focus more on logic and processes in the background. She was already familiar with Airtable - which she used to list recipes.
During the three months of training at Alegria.academy, Sara developed her skills by discovering the main Nocode tools. Theoretical courses gave her a solid grounding, while direct handling of the tools reinforced her learning in a concrete way. Theoretical courses on HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as well as on how APIs work, enabled him to grasp the underlying logic of digital solutions. "Without this introduction, I wouldn't have been able to get to grips with Webflow easily, because I wouldn't have understood HTML and CSS," explains Sara. Her favorite courses were those on Airtable and Make: two tools she uses on a daily basis.
What's she most proud of?
"I started my skills assessment exactly one year ago, and look where I am today!" Sara is proud to have been able to evolve and completely change her life in such a short space of time. "My greatest pride is to have come this far, to be able to be in a great company and above all, to be able to apply my knowledge in a tech environment."
A project she has been working on
Sara worked on an initial project to automate the generation of student attendance sheets via Edusign, the emailing of signature links to students, and reminders if students had not signed in and validated their attendance within hours of the end of the course.
Until now, this process was carried out manually by the administrative team on a daily basis. The aim: to save them time!
It then set up two automations on Make.
- The first automation checks at 8 a.m. each day whether learners have classes, by consulting the events in the calendars of the various promotions. If the student has a class, two attendance sheets are generated (one for each half-day) and sent by e-mail at 9.30am and 2pm.
- The second automation triggers and sends a reminder e-mail when the student fails to sign the attendance sheet within the allotted time.
Rather ingenious, isn't it?
Sara's cheat code
Its cheat code can be summed up in one action: "hang on". She adds, "It's not easy to get to grips with right from the start, but you have to start somewhere. It's true that when you get stuck it's frustrating, but finding the solution is so satisfying that you forget all about frustration!"
His advice for those who want to get started
For Sara, thinking about your choice of training is essential if you want to make the right career change. "Before taking the plunge, you need to find out which one is best suited to your plans, your financial means and your desires."
She also invites beginners to get hands-on experience with Nocode tools before their training has even started: "You need to see if it really fits your needs and what you want!
What next?
Sara wants to keep a job as an employee after her professionalization contract. Staying with Alegria.group is of great interest to her, as she finds the working atmosphere pleasant, and this is reinforced by the flexibility of telecommuting. "The relationships with my colleagues and the diversity of my assignments are aspects I value enormously, and count a lot in my desire to be part of the Alegria.group adventure," she confides.
The last word
"There aren't enough women in the tech world, so I think Nocode is a good gateway for those who don't dare take the plunge!"
