NoCode & AI: Inès Gomez's creative catalysts

While looking for what to do after her Bachelor's degree, Inès discovered the NoCode concept, which perfectly matched her creative vision: "I just wanted to create, without having to code!" That's how, in 2023, she joined Alegria.academy's 15-month certification course, comprising 3 months of intensive bootcamp followed by 12 months of work-study in a company.

Between her career path, her various projects and her challenges, Inès tells you all about it! 🤩

His background

Inès Gomez began her academic career with a Bac pro mode, before moving on to a Bachelor's degree in Art Direction. She began her studies at Immaconcept, where she spent her first two years learning the basics of graphic design. In 2022, she joined LISAA in Bordeaux, in the middle of the Covid period, which enabled her to delve even deeper into graphic design, although web development remained on the bangs of her studies.

That year also marked the start of her freelance adventure. As a freelance graphic designer, Inès began to diversify her services, gradually adding design and web development skills. For her, prospecting is essential. Initially using Instagram, she recently found the platform more difficult to leverage and decided to turn to LinkedIn from March. "I find them all more easily thanks to LinkedIn, in addition to word of mouth," she explains.

Over time, his interest in UI/UX and interface design began to emerge, influencing the direction of his future projects.

In her third year, Inès found herself in a work-study program where she was in charge of several graphic and web design projects, being the only art director within the agency. "I was the only one in charge of the graphic identity! It was really cool to work with so much freedom and autonomy," she recounts enthusiastically. This enriching experience enabled her to hone her skills and discover new facets of design, while reinforcing her passion for the field.

Discovering NoCode

At the end of her studies in June 2023, Inès finds herself at a crossroads between continuing her studies, traveling, focusing on her freelance career... The choice isn't going to be easy. It was by chance, while surfing the Internet, that she came across the term NoCode. Curious, she asked around and realized that what she had always wanted to do did exist: "You don't have to code to do visual programming!"

Initially attempting to self-train, she soon found herself overwhelmed by the huge variety of stacks and tools available. "I thought I might as well try to find some training related to this, it's a way of continuing my studies while exploring a new field," she explains. That's how she discovered Alegria.academy, which offers a 15-month training course comprising 3 months of intensive bootcamp followed by 12 months of work-study in a company. For her, it's the perfect opportunity to learn while becoming more professional.

Inès finds a work-study placement with a start-up called Djiminy, an IT asset management application for businesses. This application, which doesn't require a technician for IT support, has already been around for three years, but Inès was given the task of making it more intuitive and user-friendly. Using Bubble, a NoCode tool, she worked hard to develop and improve the application. "Djiminy is developed with Bubble, so I might as well tell you that I use Bubble night and day!" she confides, laughing.

In fact, Inès has been doing NoCode without even knowing it, as she has been a Notion user for many years and knows the tool like the back of her hand. She makes full use of it in her professional and personal life, as well as in her studies: "It's important to get organized when you have several activities going on at once!"

In addition to Bubble, Inès uses and perfects her skills on Webflow and Figma to carry out her customers' projects as a freelancer.

What she is most proud of

Among her proudest achievements, Inès speaks enthusiastically of her flagship project: the Hôtel Eluard. At the end of her Bachelor's degree, she devoted her dissertation to this major project, which marked her third year of study. The challenge was enormous: to completely rethink the brand image of a Parisian hotel, including its marketing strategy, its communication on social networks, and its audiovisual content. For 11 months, Inès poured her heart and soul into this project, working alone to bring a total overhaul to life. Her presentation in front of a prestigious jury was a decisive moment in her career, testifying to her ability to successfully complete large-scale projects, even on her own.

Its cheat code

Inès generously shares her tips for successfully navigating this constantly evolving field. Her "cheat code" for excellence? "It's such a fast-moving business, so stay informed," she advises with conviction. With the industry evolving at breakneck speed, she recommends keeping a close eye on the latest trends via platforms like LinkedIn and inspiration sites. For her, staying informed is essential to ensure that you don't get left behind by the rapid developments in the field. By taking an interest in a wide range of subjects, she stresses the importance of curiosity to stay relevant in an ever-changing environment.

His advice for those who want to get started

1- Maintain your creativity

Inès observes that many people with a graphic design background are drawn to web development, underlining the importance of maintaining creativity by exploring various mediums such as photography, painting and film to find inspiration and stay competitive.

2- Find the training method best suited to your needs

When it comes to learning NoCode, she stresses that it's possible to learn on your own, but it all depends on your expectations and how you want to apply it to your processes and lives.

3- Surround yourself with a community for healthy learning

For those considering freelance work, she recommends training courses like those offered by Alegria.academy, stressing the importance of a supportive community and learning through real-life use cases. In her opinion, getting straight down to business is the best way to learn and progress.

Passionate about digital creation, Inès began her studies with a Bachelor's degree in Art Direction, where she explored graphic design in all its forms. Although web development remained on the bangs of her studies, her interest in UI/UX and interface design began to emerge.

What next?

Inès shares her vision for the future with optimism and ambition. After her work-study program, she is considering a number of different paths, from joining an agency for its versatility, to continuing as a freelancer. She aspires to a dynamic professional environment that offers varied and stimulating challenges.

What's more, Inès is keen to share her passion by becoming a guest lecturer at design schools, inspired by the teachers who have shaped her own career path. She remains open to ever-changing opportunities and is ready to seize new ones, knowing that working independently gives her the freedom to learn and evolve in her own way.

We wish him every success in all his projects!
