Glide at Nocode Summit 2023

David Siegel, co-founder of Glide, returned to the Nocode Summit for its 2nd edition. He took to the stage to present his vision of AI coupled with Nocode, and to share Glide's mission with us.

The evolution of Glide

Over the past year, Glide has become one of the most powerful tools in the ecosystem. In his talk, David highlights the dilemma of creating good software, even with a million-dollar budget, because the project can fail, no matter how much you invest. Glide was created to enable the rapid, intuitive creation of functional, customizable applications by visualizing data at a lower cost than traditional development. He also points out that Glide is no longer just mobile-oriented, as the applications built via its interface can also be adapted to the desktop. All applications are adaptive and more powerful. Previously limited to 25,000 lines, databases can now contain several million lines, thanks to the ability to connect to SQL databases.

AI integration in Glide

In this context, the key question posed by the Glide teams was: How can we integrate AI directly into the design of an application created on Glide? To answer this question, David Siegel shared his two priorities:

1. Making construction easier with AI
2. Making applications more powerful with AI

AI has been integrated directly into the Data Editor for Business and Enterprise plans only. Glide offers a familiar interface for using AI on a day-to-day basis. It's the best way to start using AI in your business when you don't know where to begin. 

David presents a concrete example of customer feedback management. Using a customer feedback collection form, he integrates an additional AI column that enables him to classify customer feedback into three categories: positive, neutral or negative. AI can be configured to assign a specific team or person according to the subject of the feedback, to ensure the most appropriate response. This demonstration highlights the unobtrusive potential of AI for optimizing internal processes.
