Finding the right developer to create an application
You want to develop a website or a custom application quickly and you are looking for a developer to help you realize your project? Have you ever thought about the No code or Low code developer to replace the traditional developer?
Indeed, no-code platforms, like low-code platforms to some extent, are turning the traditional approach to IT development on its head. By offering flexibility and speed of execution, they are a breath of fresh air for all those who are stalling in their projects. These alternatives to traditional development are both beneficial to the business and to IT departments. Let's see how and to which developer profiles it is now wise to turn to create a web or mobile application.
No code vs. low code vs. code
Only 0.3% of the world's population can code
Carrying out a project based on traditional programming obviously means calling on computer developers who have mastered the code. The problem is that only 0.3% of the world's population can code. Traditional developers are rare resources; it therefore seems necessary to keep them for the development of complex projects with high added value for companies (AI, biotech, AR/VR...), and therefore to free them from certain projects that can easily be developed in No code or Low code.
80% of new products and services will be created outside of IT by 2024
In its latest study, Gartner reveals that 80% of new products and services will be created outside the IT department within the next three years, i.e. by non-traditional developers. This is where No code and Low code simplified development platforms come in, offering the possibility for other types of developers - who do not necessarily know how to code - to carry out projects more quickly and for less money. They help to relieve overburdened IT departments, as well as business units waiting for the digital tools they urgently need.
Low code platforms vs. No code platforms
Low-code platforms save development time by avoiding reproducing the code of a digital solution from scratch. They still require a layer of code (between 20 and 30%) to arrive at the finished product, which implies using developers specialised in low code.
No code tools allow you to create digital solutions without a single line of code, whether for the creation of websites, business applications, landing pages, newsletters, chatbots, automation...

Thanks to these simplified development platforms, the technology barrier in software creation is (finally!) falling. When asked what types of technology products and services they apply to, Rajesh Kandaswamy, VP of Research at Gartner, answers: "All of them!
Which profiles should be used to develop No code / Low code solutions?
Unlike code, which requires several years of learning (generally between 3 and 5 years) before being mastered to develop web or mobile applications, No code and Low code technologies offer the possibility to put projects into production more quickly thanks to their simplified development platforms.
No code developers or Nocode Makers
No code is an inclusive technology that allows anyone with the following skills to build software:
- a capacity for abstraction and an overview of the project and business use cases;
- knowledge of the tools (Nocode tools are numerous, prefer to be accompanied by an expert. To find out more about choosing tools, we advise you to read Nocode: how to find your way through the jungle of tools?)
- the right method including Design thinking + Agile + Nocode (read about it 👉 What is Nocode project management?)
However, you have to keep in mind that building software is an expertise, so a good Maker will have all 3 skills!
As for the Makers community, it is composed of different profiles and many specialisations. Some are specialised in experience or interface design (UX/UI); others are experts in automation, growth marketing, SEO, data, visual programming, and more.

Low code developers
To implement a low-code solution, you will need a traditional developer who specialises in low code. Quality profiles are those who master a specific technical stack (two at the most), i.e. a specific Low code platform.
In addition to mastering the technical stack, you should not forget that, as in Nocode, project management is one of the keys to the successful development of a digital solution. Therefore, favour profiles that have at least these two skills: technical stack + associated project management.
Nocode Makers, how are they trained?
The learning curve for a Nocode Maker is very short. A 3-month training course will be enough to make a future Maker operational.
In the course of this apprenticeship, they will have been able to :
- develop their capacity for abstraction ,
- master the basics of web development (HTML, CSS, API...),
- learn to design with a product vision (UX/UI, design thinking, agile methods),
- create concrete websites and mobile applications with Nocode tools such as Webflow, Zapier, Airtable, Bubble...
In the end, whether we are talking about No code or Low code, the learning curve remains simpler and faster than for traditional programming - a classic developer may not be fully operational for at least 2 years.
