BubbleCon 2023: Alegria.group was there!
At BubbleCon, Bubble co-founders Josh and Emmanuel announced new features currently under development. Lucien Tavano, our Chief Innovation Officer, was in New York. Here's a summary of last week's key announcements.
Native mobile application
Bubble finally announces the feature most eagerly awaited by its community: the ability to create a native mobile application on Bubble.
Native mobile applications built on Bubble will share the same databases, APIs and logic as the web applications from which they are derived.
It will be possible to preview the application on your phone while it is being created. There will also be help for publishing on the stores.
Previously, it was possible to encapsulate a Bubble web application and publish it on the stores with certain native functionalities via third-party solutions such as BDK. This new feature will enable users to create truly 100% native mobile applications (no need to encapsulate, and rendering will be better/smoother and more responsive).
The waiting list is open and the product will probably be released in early 2024.
AI-assisted page design
Bubble is developing a system for creating and designing layouts with AI. This will speed up the design process considerably. The feature will be available from the 1st half of 2024.
Here's a video preview of what this feature will look like.
Data management
Bubble is committed to making large-scale data processing faster and more efficient. Bubble hinted at a 2x speed increase for "make change to a list of things" and a 10x speed increase for "schedule API workflow on a list".
The significant improvement in these mass data processing operations will enable users to run backend workflows on millions of items reliably and cost-effectively. This functionality will change the way data is manipulated on the platform, improving performance and enabling designers to achieve what was previously only possible with native code.
For more details, the official Bubble recap on their blog provides a complete summary.
The event brought together 300 'Bubblers' in New York, with over 10,000 participants online.
For those who made it to New York, the conference was an opportunity to meet in person, marking for some the first face-to-face interaction after years of virtual collaboration or mutual support. Given the success of this first edition, it's highly likely that Bubble will make BubbleCon a recurring event.
